The Fixed Broadband Unity Package introduced by the government is targeted to help the B40 group, veterans, the disabled and the elderly at lower prices, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He said the package was in line with the government's commitment to lowering the cost of living for the people and it offers services with speeds of up to 30 Mbps along with unlimited data that costs only RM69 per month.
The offer will commence this March with a 24-month subscription contract.
"The price of the package is 22 percent cheaper than the current price of the package with the same specifications which is around RM89, which means that people can enjoy savings of RM480 throughout the contract period," he said in a statement today.
Fahmi said the package was in collaboration with fixed broadband service providers namely Telekom Malaysia (TM), CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, YTL, TIME Berhad and Astro.
According to him, the initiative is not only in line with the desire to ease the burden of the people but is also an indicator that the government and service providers are paying attention to the needs and welfare of the people.
In addition, it is also an effort to ensure more comprehensive digital connectivity at lower prices in line with the concept of Madani Malaysia, he said. - Mkini
