PETALING JAYA: Titiwangsa MP Johari Ghani will be contesting for an Umno vice-president’s post in the party’s upcoming elections.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the former second finance minister submitted his candidacy papers at the Umno headquarters in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Johari is only the third person to announce their candidacies for the vice-president’s post, after incumbents Khaled Nordin and Mahdzir Khalid.
There are three vice-president’s posts up for grabs. The other incumbent, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, has yet to announce if he will be defending his position.
