Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) has pledged support for Hajiji Noor again.
This comes after the party had called for Hajiji to step down as chief minister six weeks ago.
KDM president Peter Anthony told a press conference in Kota Kinabalu last night that the party's leadership unanimously decided to back Hajiji (above) unconditionally.
"This is not an about-turn. This is for the sake of the public interest in Sabah and not personal gains.
"The party's policy has always been to support the government of the day," he said, according to The Star.
In early January, KDM urged Hajiji to resign as chief minister after losing the support of Sabah BN.
However, Hajiji managed to swiftly cobble together the numbers needed for a majority and stayed in power, while Sabah BN was relegated to the opposition bench.
Currently, KDM has three seats in the 79-seat Sabah legislative assembly and two seats in Parliament.
The party was formed in February 2022 after Anthony withdrew from Warisan. Immediately after Parti KDM was formed, it pledged its support for Hajiji. - Mkini
