FMM says decrease in unemployment rate to 3.6% in December
unemployment rate influenced by SME businesses in coming year
98% of businesses in Malaysia are SMEs
My Comments : Do you know anyone who has not lost their job or cannot find a job?
Unemployment rate is 3.6% in December? Really? How do you define unemployment? Is gig economy considered employment?
Have you noticed the high number of business premises that are still shut down or closed permanently?
Do you recall a few years ago I wrote here that famous kopitiam in Bangsar South has shut down. Some of you said they were closed for renovations. So are they still renovating? I think they have disappeared.
The new RM1,500 Minimum Wages is going to kill the economy even more. Now that 20 sen per kWhr electricity surcharge (since January 2023) is already choking many businesses especially factories and shopping malls.
Things have not been right in the economy since a long time.
