Perak PKR screening candidates for political appointments

Perak PKR is conducting a screening of candidates for political appointments and will not rush to fill posts in government-linked companies (GLCs), local authorities, as well as village heads.

State PKR secretary Mohd Azlan Helmi said this is important to ensure every new appointment is done in an orderly manner and according to procedure.

“We do want to speed up the appointments, especially involving village heads and local council members. Even Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad stated prior to this that it is in the final phase.

“Regarding appointments in GLCs, the list of candidates has already been screened at the Perak PKR leadership level to ensure those selected are truly qualified, and after that, we will submit the names to the Perak Pakatan Harapan leadership for approval,” said Azlan.

Azlan, who is also the state executive councillor for communications, multimedia, and NGOs, was speaking at a press conference after officiating the ‘Wow Perak FM’ carnival at Tualang Sekah in Kampar today.

Harapan was reportedly given a 65 percent quota for political appointments in Perak while the rest will be filled by parties in BN after the two coalitions formed an alliance to govern the state.

Meanwhile, Azlan, who is the Tualang Sekah state assemblyperson, said the carnival today was aimed at reaching out to the community through various activities and interesting competitions in the constituency.

“Many agencies are involved and they have provided facilities to the residents here, and I see many of them taking the opportunity to undergo free health screenings provided by the Health Ministry, as well as other services provided by Yayasan Perak, Tourism Perak, JPJ (Road Transport Department). Even a lawyer service counter was provided.

“The carnival organised by Perak FM is also quite interesting, suitable for both adults and children,” he said.

Earlier, Azlan flagged off a Perak FM vehicle delivering essential items including health equipment to recipients around Tualang Sekah.
