First here is some news:

- pengecualian bayaran balik pinjaman bagi ijazah sarjana muda kelas pertama
OSTB : Someone sent me the above news clip with some remarks a follows:
Would you believe 80,000 local grads awarded 1st. Class degrees? 🤔
And they are exempted from repaying their PTPTN loans
Regarding uni degree, firstly over 300 PhD degree awarded by Uni P--ra Mal yearly. Now over 80k bumi grads get lst class degrees, and are exempted from repayment of government loans.
As employer, do you still have the confidence in degree awarded by local unis? How to employ such degree holders? They can't even write a proper application letter in English!
Very sad that the politicians have messed up the whole education syetem to such a low level!
Deng Xiaoping disclosed that when Mao invited him back from being purged to take over PM post after the death of Zhou Enlai, the lst job he asked for is Minister of Education, Science n Technology, he took over one year to revamp China's stale education system after the 10 years of the cultural revolution. He reinstalled the examination system, sending graduate students to study overseas.
If the politicians continue to disrupt and mess with our education system, what more can we expect for boleh land's future?
Hiring degree holders from Philippine as housemaids will be the future for our university graduates.
My Comments :
Not only are the local universities churning out diploma holders and degree holders by the tens and hundreds of thousands but now the 1st class honours degrees awards are also approaching the 100,000 mark.
The private sector (the real private sector, not the fake or make believe GLCs) realises the quality of the local university graduates. Because they have to employ them.
What is even sadder are the low level jobs that are now occupied by many university graduates. There was the famous case of the university graduate selling nasi lemak. Graduates are also waiters and food delivery riders.
I know of a real estate agent (who work for commissions only, no fixed wages) who has a PhD from a local university. He could not communicate in English. Ok lah forget about the English for a while. But a real estate agent with a Phd?
Why do we waste tens and hundreds of thousands of Ringgit (per student) to create a degree holder or create a PhD holder just to sell nasi lemak or to become a real estate agent?
You do not even need an SPM to sell nasi lemak. A diploma or degree is not absolutely necessary to sell real estate.
Why not just stop them from schooling at Standard Six and then send them off to sell nasi lemak or become waiters?
Why waste so much of the country's resources to create degree holders and PhD holders just to sell nasi lemak and sell real estate?
This exemption from paying back the PTPTN loan is definitely a political gimmick - at the expense of the country's finances.
The more 1st class graduates they produce, the more exemptions from paying back their PTPTN loans. The more publicity for the politicians.
It is a downward spiral - at the expense of the graduates, the education system and the entire country.
Who knows? Maybe next year they will produce 100,000 1st class honours graduates.
More waiters and nasi lemak sellers?
