PETALING JAYA: The Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) chapter in Selangor has announced the disbanding of its divisions and wings statewide, citing its unhappiness with president Larry Sng.
In a statement, Selangor PBM secretary Ruzaini Sani said Sng had backtracked on his promise to hand over the reins to Zuraida Kamaruddin.
He said Sng’s refusal to make way for the former federal minister went against the decision of the party’s general assembly.
“Sng also misused his powers to sack 13 of the party’s senior leadership, including Zuraida, in the Supreme Council meeting, without referring to the party’s constitution,” he said.
Zuraida, PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad and Youth chief Na’im Brundage were sacked in December after failing to respond to show cause letters.
Ruzaini said the dissolution of the party’s Selangor chapter will involve 15 divisions and the youth and women’s wings.
Earlier, the party’s Pahang and Negeri Sembilan chapters and the Selayang division also announced their dissolution.
Sng had since said no one had the right to dissolve the party’s state chapters or divisions, and such decisions could only be made by its Supreme Council. - FMT
