A visitor at Parliament who wanted to meet with Kelvin Yii (Pakatan Harapan-Bandar Kuching) today was expelled from the building for wearing a knee-length skirt with a slit, which exposed part of her thigh.
Media practitioners at the Parliament lobby witnessed a security officer telling the woman to leave the premises.
“Get her out,” said the security officer, in a firm tone to parliamentary staff.
The visitor agreed and left the building. The security officer refused to reveal his name to the media.
Media personnel were unable to take photographs of the lady due to movement restrictions at the Parliament.
It was initially reported that the woman was Yii’s aide. However, he clarified with Guang Ming Daily that she was a visitor who wanted to meet him.
Based on the parliamentary visitor dress code, skirts must be below knee length.
However, the guideline does not spell out if slit skirts are allowed or not. - Mkini
