PETALING JAYA: Communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil says Pakatan Harapan will conclude its seat negotiations with Barisan Nasional before entering into discussions with other electoral partners, such as Muda.
Fahmi, who is also PH communications director, said after seat negotiations with BN have been finalised, both coalitions will proceed with allocating seats among their respective component parties.
“We saw a relatively similar approach during the Johor state elections. So the first stage is within PH itself,” he told reporters after an event in Kuala Lumpur today.
However, Fahmi said he could not confirm if this same arrangement will apply to seat allocations in Selangor as these are broad principles regarding seat allocations between coalitions.
Earlier today, Muda information chief Luqman Long said his party and PH have yet to commence seat negotiations for the upcoming state elections.
Muda applied to join PH in September last year, but the coalition has yet to decide on its application.
Muda and PH had agreed on an electoral pact for the 15th general election in November.
In April, PKR leaders had slammed Muda for “pressuring” PH to decide on whether to accept its application to join the coalition. - FMT
