Malaysia witnesses progress, development under Agong’s guidance

Malaysia has witnessed remarkable progress and development, both on the domestic and international fronts, under the guidance of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Acting Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Malaysia, Manuel Balaguer Salas, said Al-Sultan Abdullah’s reign had always been marked by wisdom, dedication, and a deep commitment to the welfare of the Malaysian people.

The Argentinian Ambassador to Malaysia said under His Majesty’s leadership, diplomatic ties between Malaysia and nations across the globe had been further strengthened, hence, fostering cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect.

“We are grateful for your unwavering efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond,” said Salas.

The envoy said this in his speech on behalf of the diplomatic corps in Malaysia at the investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s official birthday celebration at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur today.

Salas said under Al-Sultan Abdullah’s reign since January 2019, Malaysia went through various challenging political phases.

“In these years, His Majesty has shown great conviction and resolution to remain faithful to the principles of justice and democracy, always putting the interest of the Malaysian people first,” he said.

He said other challenges were still ahead, such as the world economic slowdown, climate change, migrations, cybersecurity, poverty, artificial intelligence and international security.

“On this, the diplomatic community in Malaysia stands ready to work closely with Your Majesty, the Malaysian government, and the Malaysian people,” he added.

Before ending his speech, Salas conveyed the diplomatic corps' wishes of good health, happiness and fulfilling all aspirations to Al-Sultan Abdullah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
