KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia has won the battle to set aside a Paris Arbitration Court's purported award of US$14.94bil to the self-claimed heirs of the defunct Sulu Sultanate.
The Paris Court of Appeal gave the decision in favour of Malaysia during its hearing in Paris today (June 6).
Lawyer Tengku Datuk Fuad Ahmad said the setting aside of the award would effectively make Gonzalo Stampa's award not enforceable.
He said the Sulu heirs might be appealing to the higher French court. - Star
