DAP not dictating Putrajaya, N Sembilan: Loke; civil servants told to carry out duties with principle

• DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke today dismissed accusations that the party had been dictating Putrajaya and the Negeri Sembilan government, calling it an old narrative used to discredit Pakatan Harapan.

  As reported by Bernama, Loke (above) said all parties in the federal government can express their views, but the prime minister will make the final decision. This similarly applies to Negeri Sembilan under the leadership of Aminuddin Harun.

  The transport minister also dismissed claims that Malays were under threat in Negeri Sembilan.

  "They always say the Malays are under threat. It’s the same old tactic. What exactly is under threat? Everything is fine in Negeri Sembilan.

  "The menteri besar is Malay, and government policies and programmes have continued to safeguard the interests of the people, including the Malays, since Harapan took over the state administration in 2018,” Loke reportedly told the media in Seremban.

Civil service

• Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof today reminded civil servants to remain committed to carrying out their duties according to principles and be free from the influence of changing political conditions.

  "The continuity of sound policies is crucial to ensuring the nation remains competitive, strengthening governance, and maintaining investor confidence and economic stability," he said in a Facebook post, as reported by Bernama.

  Fadillah said that in the face of geopolitical challenges, global economic uncertainty, and pressure on national finances, the entire civil service machinery must maintain a forward-looking mindset, act strategically, and manage national resources responsibly.

  At the same time, he stressed that the welfare of the people must always remain a priority through the implementation of sustainable and prudent policies.

Corruption

• MACC has arrested three members of a family in Kedah for allegedly submitting false claims involving RM20 million in funding for the purchase of paddy and rice, Bernama reported.

  Quoting sources, it said preliminary investigations found that the three suspects, including two company directors, allegedly conspired to submit the documents to a development financial institution last year, despite the actual purchase of padi and rice never taking place.

  One of the suspects, an operations manager in his 30s, has been remanded for five days until July 11 after magistrate Eliana Ismail granted MACC’s application at the Alor Setar Magistrate’s Court today.

  

  The other two suspects, both company directors in their 60s, were released on MACC bail after their statements were recorded.
