PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission spent more than nine hours on its fourth and last day questioning a former chief financial officer of a statutory body, as part of its investigation into Tabung Haji.

MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman said the session began at 9am and ended at 6.30pm. “This is the fourth and final day that MACC has recorded the former senior official’s statement, after the process began on Tuesday,” he said in a brief statement today.

The probe centres on alleged abuse of power in the purchase of RM370 million in shares in two plantation companies.

The former CFO and the statutory body’s former CEO were arrested by MACC earlier this week as part of its probe into the royal commission of inquiry’s report on Tabung Haji. They were later released due to health reasons. - FMT
