GE-13: Can the BN win at all costs?

GE-13: Can the BN win at all costs?
The 13th General Election is the most talked about event in the country today. It is on every citizen’s mind and is also the focus interest of every existing and prospective foreign investor. Likewise, it certainly is a closely watched development by all our neighboring countries.
Although the prime minster of the nation is still keeping the date under wraps and alluding to the secret to be akin to the Coke recipe, the people are already taking offence to his lack of respect and dignity for the citizens’ duty to vote.
Some are even asking: Why is our very own prime minister and leader for all Malaysians holding us at ransom for the sake of his own political party?
Trying to win at all cost
Looking at all the goings-on in the country one begins to clearly notice that BN is all set to win at all cost.
And that is most worrying. Looking at the trend of how things are developing (or deteriorating) these days, the need for citizens to come together and put the country back on a honorable path seems even more imminent. Will they sit back and count on the 13th general elections or will they create the very mechanism that will set the polling on good stead, is yet to be seen.
To begin with there was a moment in our history when a leader of a certain political party raised the keris and screamed for blood to protect a particular political party that championed a particular race.
Then came another who screamed a pledge of ‘over our dead bodies’ and vouched to go for a bloodbath if it had to be to keep BN in power.
As the days and months roll by, we have numerous other incidents that keep the loyal citizens even more perplexed. We had the cow-heads episodes; the pig’s ears and blood-spilling episodes; we had sex-videos paddled in great haste; we saw some un-explained deaths when under interrogation or custody; and of course not forgetting the religious conversion claims.
But the mother of all crimes against the very citizens who gave the mandate to govern was the denial of their electoral reform rights.
And with that, Bersih 3.0 is set to paint the entire nation in yellow in a peaceful, sit-down protest on 28 April 2012.
End of the dinosaur era
Since BN seems set on winning at all costs, will the police come with guns drawn? Will the armed forces roll out their tanks? Will the hired thugs beat up peaceful citizens? Will there actually be a bloodbath?
It appears that the leaders within BN are already starting to billow threats. One has already instantaneously blurted that Dataran Merdeka is not gazette for peaceful assemblies. Is he implying that the iconic Independence Square is gazette for bloodbaths only?
If BN is set in its ways to win at all costs, which it already is doing by rolling out billions of Ringgit to its party politics, then is brutalizing tens of thousands of citizens also included?
It looks like a dinosaur political party that is about to lose its five-decade legacy is making a last ditch to cling on from being defeated. Will it succeed?
Underestimating its citizens
Maybe, BN should not underestimate its rakyat. Do not forget that the people called Malaysians won independence without shedding blood. They have what it takes to win a political war without parangs and molotov cocktails.
The more BN uses all kinds of scare tactics and psy-war strategies, the more the people will come out in droves to register their honor and loyalty to a greater Malaysia.
BN is a failed battle cry because the Malays are also joining the opposition parties in droves and even participating in all their events aimed at bringing down BN. In fact Bersih 3.0 is bound to see all races assemble side by side as true Malaysians to register their total disapproval of the way BN is conducting itself lately.
BN do you still want to win at all cost? If the answer is ‘Yes’ then you are implying that only two things are relevant. One, you have so much to lose that wining is the only option left to save yourself. And two, if you are going to lose, then chaos will be employed to remain in power.
BN why can you not walk to polls like a gentleman and win the battle with honor? Why do you choose to plunder your way through and only stand to get thrashed at the polls by the rakyat who are getting more and more fed up with all your cow-gates, anak-gates, felda-gates, toll-gates, flom-gates, murder-gates, and what have you.
As BN leaders make more and more mistakes along the way, losing more States at all costs seems more likely the outcome.
