Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor has denied that the party's database has been hacked or that any of its information has been stolen.
"Our data is secure," he said when contacted by Malaysiakini today.
Tengku Adnan (right) was responding to a blog posting on Friday that claimed the blogger had communicated with a hacker who had allegedly hacked into Umno's database and stolen its data.
The blogger onhackerkini.blogspot.com had uploaded a series of screenshots to back his claim.
Among the data reflected in the screenshots of supposed databases included the Umno membership number and old and new identity card numbers of several Umno leaders including Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Also displayed were the correspondence addresses of several Umno members including Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir and Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Asked to comment on this alleged breach, Tengku Adnan replied, "I don't know anything about that."

The hacker, who calls himself Politikus, in what appeared to be an email to Hackerkini posted on the blog, claimed he had obtained three gigabytes of information that he has stored in a Nokia N8 mobile phone.
"I don't have intention to sell it (the information), when I'm satisfied I will delete it.
"I entered Umno's system not because I support the opposition. I'm a guerrilla... Next time I will try to enter PAS' or PKR's system," the email read.
The blog that published the alleged hacking episode was accessible to the general web user until yesterday, but has since been closed off to the public and limited only to private users as of today.
