Prove it - Tian Chua

"We did not do it," said Tian Chua.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice president Tian Chua facing mounting criticisms for allegedly misbehaving during the installation of the Yang diPertuan Agong recently has decided to confront his critics and challenged them to proof their allegations.

Contacted by The Mole recently, Tian Chua, who is the MP for Batu insisted he did not insult any royalty during the installation and demanded those making such allegations to come up with the proof.

“Like I said earlier, these are all lowdown strategy by Umno cyber troopers, meant to tarnish and undermine the image of the Royal institution. We did not do it.

“If Dr Rahman Kadir is really honest about it, he should come out and make a press statement,” Tian Chua said.

In a previous story, Dr Rahman, who was one of the special medical team officer during the installation day, had expressed his disappointment over the behaviour of opposition leaders, Tian Chua and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali whom he alleged had mocked the Rulers and the Governor behind their back when the royalties were walking into the Balai Rong Seri, in the Istana Negara, where the ceremony was conducted.

Dr Rahman who claimed to witness the PKR leaders "misbehaving" further wrote in hisFacebook Notes that it was crucial for every leader to respect the Royal institution, one of the principles stipulated in the Rukunegara.

The incident, which was highlighted by blogger GAPThe UnspinnerAIDC and several others, had sparked anger among some Malay-based non-governmental organisations including the Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa), Pertubuhan Jalur Tiga (Jati) and Gagasan Melayu Perak as reported in Utusan Malaysia.

The leaders from the NGOs had questioned Tian Chua and Azmin's silence over the accusations, saying their keeping quiet had caused people to perceive that they had misbehaved during the installation.

Two Umno vice presidents Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi both said the matter have to be investigated by a royal commission of inquiry (RCI).

Hishamuddin, in a report in Utusan Malaysia, said the RCI is necessary to determine the truth about the accusations.

Umno legal adviser Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun stated the issue should be investigated under Sedition Act 1948.

Tian Chua, when asked if he would initiate legal proceedings against those who made the allegations against him, refused to make any comments.

In his Twitter account, Tian Chua posted“Not enough with the personal attacks, now UMNO cyber troopers want to damage the royal ceremony”

Prior to this, it was reported that Barisan Nasional's MP for Hulu Selangor P. Kamalanathan, who was mentioned by Dr Rahman as being "near to where Tian Chua and Azmin were during the ceremony" when contacted and asked to comment on the "misbehaviour of the PKR leaders said that as guests of honour, they should at least be sensitive and behave well.

Kamalanathan was also quoted as saying that he agreed "with certain things written by Dr Rahman, adding that when "we are invited to attend such a royal ceremony, we should be proud and show our respects."

He had also  tweeted"I would like to verify the article of Dr Rahman Kadir was true".

Asked to comment on Kamalanathan's tweets and comments, Tian Chua said: “I don’t want to make a statement about him, because he is friendly (to me),” he said.

Meanwhile, in his latest tweet post, Tian Chua said that: "Saya hantar surat kpd Speaker mohon satu JK dilantik mengikut Peraturan Mesyuarat Parlimen 80a utk siasat dakwaan MP Pakatan menghina Agong (I have sent a letter to the Speaker to initiate a committee to be set up under Standing Order 80 (a) Rules of Parliament to investigate allegations that Pakatan MPs had insulted the Agong). - the Mole
