PUTRAJAYA, -- Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the question of who would be the Chief Minister of Sabah after the upcoming general election (GE) was something for the top leadership of Barisan Nasional (BN) to decide.
Mohd Shafie, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, said statements to the effect that he would be replacing current Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman were merely claims made by certain parties.
"I work only to serve the people. Positions, whether I am considered to be a candidate on not in the election, these matters are for the top leadership to decide," he told reporters after opening a graduation ceremony for participants of a skills training programme undertaken by his ministry, the Orang Asli Affairs Department and Felcra, here today.
He added that what was most important for all Barisan Nasional members was to work hard to ensure a resounding victory for the coalition in the election.
