Pakatan Rakyat WPKL will be launching the Manifesto Rakyat for Wilayah Persekutuan (Federal Territories) and KL on Thursday, March 21.
Lembah Pantai MP Nuru lzzah and her colleagues will hold a press conference at 10am at the Kelab Sultan Sulaiman, Kampung Baru.
Later that night, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim will lead a ceramah (political talk) at the same venue. Other speakers include DAP's Tan Seng Giaw, PAS' Mohamad Noor and PKR's Idris Ahmad. The ceramah, which starts at 8pm, is open to the public and there are no charges for admission.
Staying put at Lembah Pantai
Nurul, who is also a PKR vice president, was in the news earlier today, the object of speculation when Anwar told a press conference he might not contest his stronghold Permatang Pauh seat.
However, her constituents will be pleased to know that Anwar also dismissed the possibility that she might take over the Penang seat, although her rivals such as Lembah Pantai Umno chief Raja Nong Chik will surely be less happy.
"She is already busy in Lembah Pantai, why disturb her? Raja Nong Chik is already bothering her, that's enough," said Anwar.
Indeed, Nong Chik who is also the FT Minister, has already sounded the clarion cry for the BN's charge in KL and the Federal Territories, focusing on the Lembah Pantai seat in particular.
The Umno leader has already failed to turn up for a debate with Nurul and the latest Manifesto Rakyat launch by the PR WPKL is bound to add to the pressure on him. Till now, his boss Prime Minister Najib Razak has yet to unveil the BN's manifesto.
