About 80,000 guests attended the Aidilfitri open house held by Prime Minister Najib Razak at Taman Tasik Sultan Abu Bakar in Pekan today.
Also present were the Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Hajah Kalsom, the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor and Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob.
Deputy head of the Pekan Umno division Ishak Muhamad said about 200 stalls operated by 160 food suppliers around Pekan provided various Hari Raya dishes including local delicacies.
At the event, the prime minister also gave out contributions to 150 people from Pekan who would be performing the haj and 40,000 door gifts for the earliest visitors.
Popular artistes such as Awie (Wings), singers Syed Sobrie, Azie, Nash, Shura, Raja Azura and Lan Pet Pet were also present to entertain the guests.
