Bullet removed from gunshot victim Sanjeevan

Anti-crime watchdog MyWatch chairman R Sri Sanjeevan went under the knife today to remove a bullet lodged in his rib cage.
However, even as Sanjeevan was on the operating table at the Serdang Hospital, a police team and the victim's father were at loggerheads as to who will get to have the bullet.
Sanjeevan's father, P. Ramakrishnan, was adamant that the team of four policemen from the Jempol district police headquarters and Seremban should not be given the bullet.
Earlier this week, Ramakrishnan lodged a report, urging police in Bukit Aman to take over investigations into his son's shooting case.
Ramakrishnan had said that his son was allegedly going to expose several corrupt police officers from Negri Sembilan before he was shot.
Sanjeevan was wheeled into the operation theatre at 2.30pm and some three hours later, the police team left the hospital with the bullet.
The family was told that the bullet will be taken to the police forensic lab in Cheras for tests. They were also told that Bukit Aman was now in charge of the investigations.
Sanjeevan was shot at a traffic light junction in Bahau, Negri Sembilan on July 27. A motorcyclist fired several shots at him before fleeing.
Prior to the shooting, Sanjeevan tweeted about a policeman who alleged had told a syndicate to scare Sanjeevan and his family.
He also wanted to expose alleged links between drug syndicates and some members of the police force and had approached PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli on the matter.
Sanjeevan had also said he had received an anonymous call and the caller had warned him to watch his back as he had "stepped on too many toes".
Ramakrishnan told The Malaysian Insider today that several hours before his son was shot, he overheard Sanjeevan speaking to someone over the phone where he allegedly said he was going to call for a press conference about "some leaked information".
"He was shouting. He also mentioned a police officer's name from Negri Sembilan, " said the father.
That is why Ramakrishnan feared that the investigation into Sanjeevan's shooting may be compromised if it was handled by Negri Sembilan police.
"Any evidence should be handled by Bukit Aman," Ramakrishnan said.
