Couple fought with hammer, parang and boiling oil over $ 14

Couple fought with hammer, parang and boiling oil over $ 14
PERAK, MALAYSIA - The old couple attacked each other with a knife and a hammer, leaving both in a bloodied mess.
And it was all for the sake of RM36 (S$14).
he incident took place at the Malaysian couple's house in Rimba Panjang, Perak, on Tuesday afternoon, reported China Press.
Neighbours said they heard a scream at about noon and went out of their houses to find out what was happening.
Madam Huang Yue Gui, 66, had suspected her husband, Mr Qiu Yong Gui, 73, of stealing RM36 from her and she confronted him.
The pair started arguing and Mr Qiu took out a parang and attacked his wife. Madam Huang retaliated with boiling oil and a hammer.
She managed to wrestle the parang off her husband before hitting him on the head with the hammer. She also poured the boiling oil on him, reported China Press.
The fight left Mr Qiu with cuts from his parang, while his arms and legs were scalded by the boiling oil.
His injuries were more serious than his wife's. Madam Huang suffered only a cut on her head.
When their neighbours found out what happened, they called the couple's son and the emergency services. When help arrived, the old man was found meekly sitting at the corridor of his house, while his wife could still stand up.
Their son was shocked by the sight of his parents when he arrived at the scene, neighbours said. China Press also reported that the floor where the fight took place was covered with oil.
The couple were taken to hospital and the objects used in the fight were taken away by the authorities.
The old man had some breathing difficulties, but both were in stable condition without any life-threatening injuries.
China Press said that the old couple had quarrelled often in the past 30 years.
Madam Huang apparently was unhappy that her husband had not been providing for her and that he had asked her for money often.
Neighbours and relatives said that although the couple were often at loggerheads, this was the first time they resorted to such violence.
