Alan Tang, aide to DAP's Stulang state assemblyperon Chen Kah Eng has described the Facebook postings that touched on religious sensitivities under his name as sabotage.
He was referring to Facebook posting under his name of a pig head in a Hari Raya greeting as well as remarks asking Malays "to die".
Tang reckoned that someone had created a duplicate Facebook account using his name and picture for the posting."This is over the board slander and I have reported it to the police. I hope the police will investigate diligently and arrest the culprit responsible for this slander, he said.
He hopes that people will not attack him any more because he is in the victim in the matter, he said in a Facebook posting.
According to his police report lodged on Thursday, Tang said he received a death threat at around 9am but did not take the matter seriously.
It was only at around 3.50pm when he realised what had happened after a friend alerted him on the matter.
"I checked my mobile phone and found a (Facebook) account using my name and the same picture as my own Facebook account to publish statements that touched on race and religion.
"After realising the matter I felt there were quarters that wanted to embarrass me," he said.
Tang denied that he had posted any statements against Malays or picture of a pig head as a Hari Raya greeting.
