JAKIM, deal with Syed Akbar Ali first before you go for Chetz

Malaysiakini reports today that JAKIM is still calling for Chetz to be punished, so that it serves as a lesson for others.

First, see once more the action of Chetz that JAKIM finds to be an insult to Islam.

Now, in case you’re uncertain what Syed meant by the words in red, let me help you.

Batu Gang Malays : The Malays who follow the sunni tradition of Islam which includes, turning to the Ka’aba in Mecca in performing the ritual of prayer

They founded the religion of the Batu Gang : The Arabs founded the religion of the Malay Sunni Muslims

a stupid stone structure … the centre of focus of people’s worship : the Ka’aba in Mecca

the sick Arabs have conned millions of people into raising their arse above their heads five times a day : prostration during the 5 daily Muslim prayers.

In your reckoning, was this insulting of Islam?

Well, AG Gani Patail thought so, and, in 2008, charged Syed under section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act, 1948.

2009, Gani does an about turn and withdraws the charge.

Seems Syed spoke to Dr M who then spoke to Gani and, suddenly all that Syed wrote was not insulting of Islam, or seditious.

Now, what do you think?

Should JAKIM not get on Gani to resurrect those charges against Syed first, if they are intent on going after Chetz?
