A 27-year-old man, who was having a drink with three friends at a restaurant near a bank at Jalan Besar, Kapar, near Klang, was shot at close range about 2.25am today.
North Klang district deputy police chief Supt Jani Ahmad said the victim, S. Sambhath, was hit in the chest and cheek and died on the way to the hospital.
"Two men on a Yamaha 125z motorbike had parked outside the restaurant. The pillion rider alighted, took out a gun and shot the victim from three metres away," he told reporters today.
Jani said the victim's friends were unharmed.
"We have yet to identify the motive for the shooting," he added and appealed to the public who had witnessed the shooting to contact police. - Bernama
