A non-governmental organisation, Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) today lodged a police report against the owner of a Facebook social website account who is alleged to have insulted Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
MJMM chairperson Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah said the organisation wanted police and the Home Ministry to take stern action against the owner of the account using the name Sally Yen, for insulting Islam in her Facebook account on June 24.
“As a Muslim, (we) find the posting extremely insulting and rude. We hope the police and Home Ministry will take severe action against them,” he told reporters after making the police report at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.
Dang Wangi Deputy OCPD Supt Nor Azman Muhammad Yusuf, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed the report and the case was being investigated under Section 4 of the Sedition Act for making a seditious statement.
