PUTRAJAYA - THE government should not accommodate those who have extreme political views and make unreasonable demands, said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Mahathir said political extremists were aiming to unseat the government and were not interested in giving the latter support although their demands had been met.
He said this during his keynote address on "Current political trends and their impact on economy and social direction" forum at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, here, yesterday.

He said the appropriate response to such extremism was not to be accommodating because the government would not gain anything but face bigger problems instead.
Dr Mahathir was explaining the existence of extremists who were few in number but had strong influence over the country.
"The moderates are normally voiceless. They don't speak their minds because they are afraid of being criticised by the extremists."
