Sg Limau constituents have been urged to examine the contents of the goody bags given out by BN in the campaign period as it has been found to contain expired food items.
PAS wants voters to say 'no' to "expired goods", urging them to carefully check the important details such as the expiry date of everything they given by BN, said Dato Mahfuz Omar.
According to him, he had received a report of a voter receiving an expired tin of condensed milk from BN in Sungai Dedap.
The goods, including rice and floor, were handed to the constituents by a BN parliamentarian's team on Monday.
"We believe the items were distributed to hundreds of household in Kampung Sungai Dedap.
"We would like to caution people to check the goods for their expiry dates immediately," Mahfuz told a press conference at Padang Lumat.
Mahfuz also warned the people of food poisoning, reminding the locals of a recent incident where some 60 people were affected after eating at a wedding feast in Tanjung Dawai, Sungai Petani, last month.
The incident which resulted in four deaths, was caused by 'Ayam Masak Merah' which had been contaminated by salmonella bacteria due to improper food preparation.
Kedah Health Department director Dr Ismail Abu Taat said investigations showed that the bacteria had spread to the chicken used for ayam masak merah (sweet and spicy chicken) dish after the chicken was left overnight at room temperature.
He said poor food preparation for the dish had resulted in salmonella bacteria contaminating the chicken.
