Isma warns Malays of DAP's 'cheap candy'

TELUK INTAN Launching another acerbic assault on DAP, Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) described the party's candidate for the Teluk Intan by-election, Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud, as a "cheap candy" bait to fool the Malays.

In a comment piece, Isma vice-president Abdul Rahman Mat Dali (right) cautioned Muslims and Malays not to fall for this and reminded them that the nature of DAP is "against the implementation of Islam".

Rahman also pointed out that DAP champions socialism and secularism, which cannot be on the same path as Islam.

"Do you know that socialism, like communism, secularism, humanism, liberalism and democracy, was invented by the Jews...," he said.

"Have you forgotten that DAP's biggest struggle is to create equality and destroy the special privileges of the Malays and the position of Islam?

"Do you believe that DAP will take care of Islam and Muslims?" he added.

Fielding Dyana, the Isma leader said, is an attempt to convince Malays that DAP is friendly to them and therefore can be considered a political ally.

"But those who are smart and mature will not be duped by the small picture. To me, DAP's latest tactic insults and fools the Malays.

"I repeat, only fools will eat the this cheap candy bait," he added.

Umno has a secret weapon

In a related development, Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan revealed a "secret" that may tip the Teluk Intan by-election results in BN’s favour come May 31.

Ahmad (left) said during the last general election, a total of 9,120 voters comprising Umno and BN members did not come out to vote, and this was considered as one of the factors that contributed to the BN defeat.

"We will find these 9,120 voters and we will bring them to vote on May 31...

"There were several reasons why they did not vote (in the last election). We have identified them. We will find them, we will convince them and we will bring them (to vote).

"These are not fence-sitters," Ahmad is quoted as saying by Umno Online.

Furthermore, he said, BN candidate Mah Siew Keong's vast political experience and his service to the people of Teluk Intan are also factors that will determine victory for BN.
