The four PAS executive councillors in Selangor will resign if Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim appoints Umno lawmakers into the exco, said Sallehen Mukhyi today.
"Umno does not arise. If Umno is in, PAS will leave. They are not in the government," he told reporters at the lobby of the state secretariat building in Shah Alam today.
The four PAS executive councillors are attending the exco meeting today despite calls to boycott I by their Pakatan Rakyat (PR) partners, PKR and DAP, as a sign of solidarity.
Exco Iskandar Abdul Samad arrived as early as 7am to avoid the media followed by Dr Halimah Ali at 9.30am and Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi five minutes later.
Sallehen was the last PAS exco to arrive for the meeting.
Yesterday, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, in appealing to PAS's four excos to boycott the exco meeting, said the sacking of the six PKR and DAP excos was unethical and against democratic principles.
The PR allies held an emergency meeting, hours after news broke that Khalid had sent termination letters to five PKR and DAP executive councillors, effectively kicking the coalition out of government.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, stressing they were against the unethical sacking, said he was certain none of the PKR and DAP assemblymen would defect.
