Confirmed: 1MDB report to PAC classified under OSA

After being delayed several times, the auditor-general's final report on 1MDB investigation was finally handed over to the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today.
The report, presented by auditor-general Ambrin Buang himself, has been classified under Official Secrets Act (OSA), PAC deputy chairperson Tan Seng Giaw confirmed.
"Auditor-general with his team presented what they have found in the 1MDB investigation. They have classified it under OSA," the DAP Kepong MP told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Asked whether the auditor-general mentioned the reason for the OSA classification, Tan said the national top accountant did not.
He said the proceeding is expected to end by 5pm today and will continue on Monday afternoon.
Yesterday, it was reported that the auditor-general report has been classified under OSA.
Earlier today, most media were not allowed to pass the Parliament's gate, except the official RTM and Bernama.
"So sorry, media is not allowed. Only RTM can go in," said a security guard stationed at the gate.
Later, Bernama reporters were allowed to enter the Parliament.
All other journalists from various media organisations had no choice but to wait outside the gate, just accompanied by their cameras, video cameras and tripods.
PAC has disallowed media from covering the proceedings since December 2015, including when 1MDB chairperson Arul Kanda Kandasamy testified.
Commenting on this, Tan disagreed with the move to bar the media from covering.
"For me anything to do with public funds, what is there to hide?" he said. -Mkini
