KUALA SELANGOR - The Education Ministry is leaving it to the police to investigate the case of a male teacher who allegedly performed oral sex on two boys during a school trip to Malacca.
Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the ministry’s action would be decided after the probe was completed.
“Let the police carry out a thorough investigation on this case.
“We will look at the investigation report before deciding on any further action,” he said after attending a programme at SK Parit Mahang here yesterday.
The Star reported on Thursday that the teacher from Shah Alam was alleged to have performed oral sex on two 11-year-old pupils in mid-October last year.
The 28-year-old man was detained after he was summoned to the Malacca police headquarters to give his statement on Tuesday. One of the boys had lodged a police report in Shah Alam on Sunday.
It is understood that the boy, who is from the same school in Shah Alam, accused the teacher of committing the act during a homestay in Ayer Keroh.
Mahdzir said the teacher would face stern disciplinary action, including dismissal, if the allegation was true.
