Former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin will reveal his decision in the next two days on whether he will quit Umno.
“I will hold a press conference to explain all matters related to my suspension (as Umno deputy president),” he told reporters when met at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) upon his return from Vietnam this evening.
“I will explain everything that I need to explain. In the meantime, I am still with Umno,” he said.
When repeatedly quizzed on his stand given that some have accused him of conspiring to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, he replied: “Wait lah, I will hold a press conference.”
Yesterday, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced his resignation from the party and expressed hope that Muhyiddin will follow suit.
Mahathir had accused Umno of being subservient to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Muhyiddin was suspended from his Umno number two post last Friday when he was abroad.
