Police shot dead two armed criminals in a shootout in an oil palm estate in Kunak early today, said inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar.
The incident happened at the Ulu Tingkayu Estate, he said in a post on his Twitter account.
Khalid congratulated the Kunak District Police headquarters for their success.
"Congratulations to IPD Kunak, Sabah, on eliminating two armed criminals in the Ulu Tingkayu Estate in Kunak this morning," he had posted.
Sabah police commissioner Abdul Rashid Harun is scheduled to hold a press conference on the incident at 3pm today.
