Government service counters will resume operation from July 1 onward with strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), announced Chief Secretary to the government Mohd Zuki Ali.
He, however, said the physical operation will only involve services that could not be performed online.
Members of the public will also need to secure an appointment before going to the respective government service counters.
“At the moment, the government service counters do not operate physically during the Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan except health service, police station and the international gateways involving the custom, immigration and quarantine services.
“After examining the urgent need as according to public feedback, the government decided the service counters are to resume operation physically from July 1,” Zuki said in a statement today.
He, however, said the service counters can only operate at 50 percent capacity and members of the public must schedule appointments.
“The department heads must ensure all SOPs issued by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry are complied with in order to balance the optimum service delivered to clients and at the same time containing the Covid-19 outbreak,” he said.
Most government counters were instructed to close since the implementation of full lockdown under movement control order 3.0 (MCO 3.0) early this month. - Mkini
