The Johor government will announce an economic stimulus package, PRE Ihsan 3.0, next week for residents in the state, particularly for groups affected by the implementation of the movement control order (MCO).
Menteri Besar Ir Hasni Mohammad said the package would focus on pandemic management in the state and strengthening the social safety assistance for those in need.
“The PRE Ihsan Johor 3.0 to be announced will be implemented immediately so that it reaches the target groups as soon as possible while hastening economic recovery efforts.
“This package will complement the initiatives and assistance made by the federal government and is a continuity of the PRE Ihsan Johor 1.0 and PRE Ihsan Johor 2.0,“ he said in statement here, today.
As of May 23, PRE Ihsan Johor 1.0 benefitted 295,464 recipients involving RM167.33 million while PRE Ihsan Johor 2.0 provided benefits to 387,674 recipients with a value of RM109.48 million.
Welcoming the initiatives announced by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin under the Supplementary Strategic Programme to Empower the People and Economy or Pemerkasa Plus last night, Hasni said these initiatives would be able to enhance public health capacity and support business continuity.
“I am grateful for the various efforts and assistance given to all levels of society particularly groups affected by the enforcement of the 'total MCO'.
“A huge allocation is made to enhance the healthcare sector and give aid to the people, and this effort is very important and must be expedited in ensuring the measures taken to fight the Covid-19 pandemic will succeed,” he said.
To make sure the initiatives can be implemented smoothly and achieve their objectives, he said all parties involved must play their respective roles in complying with the prescribed standard operating procedures.
