ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said he will explain any issues surrounding the legitimacy of the state government in his winding up speech at the State Assembly.
He said the issue of Umno Johor's support for the Perikatan Nasional government and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be explained in the speech.
"As I have stated before, I will address these issues in the State Assembly.
"As a leader, we need to have a stand and we need to state it clearly.
"I believe that if we put the interest of the people first, we will not have any problems making a stand," Hasni told a Press conference after the opening of the State Assembly.
On August 6, Hasni was reported saying that he is aware of the current political developments and it will be discussed at the State Assembly.
Last week, Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia secretary Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal urged Johor Umno to state its position on the leadership of Muhyiddin and the PN government.
This follows the move by the Umno Supreme Council to withdraw its support for Muhyddin and the PN government.
Johor PN currently have 29 seats in the 56-seat Johor State Assembly while Pakatan Harapan holds 27 seats.- NST
