More areas in Sabah and Pahang under EMCO

 

Nine localities in Sabah and two in Pahang join the list of places now facing stricter movement restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19.

PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Sabah and Pahang will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Aug 19 until Sept 1 to curb the spread of Covid-19.

In a statement today, national security council (MKN) director-general Rodzi Md Saad said that in Sabah, the areas are Kampung Kuala Abai and Kampung Payas-Payas in Kota Belud, Beverly Hills Phase 3 and Regency Park in Penampang, and Kampung Iburu and Kampung Meligan in Sipitang.

Taman Ria Heights in Tawau, Kompleks Baiduri Ayu in Felda Sahabat 9 in Lahad Datu and Moynord farm workers’ housing in Beluran will also be placed under similar restrictions.

In Pahang, Felda Jenderak Utara in Kuala Krau, Temerloh and the Selbourne farm in Lipis will also be placed under the EMCO.

Rodzi added that the EMCO at Felda Tersang 1, 2 and 3 in Raub, Pahang will be extended until Aug 25.

Meanwhile, the EMCOs at 10 localities in five states are set to end tomorrow.

In Sabah, the localities are Kampung Banjar in Keningau, Kem 3 Sibulu in Tenom, Penampang Baru in Penampang, and the immigration detention centre in Tawau.

In Terengganu, the areas are Taman Rakyat Bestari Phase 1 to 4 and the low-cost public housing in Kemaman as well as the Manir subdistrict.

The EMCO at Felda Krau 1 in Raub, Pahang and Kampung Banggol Pak Esah in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan will also end tomorrow. - FMT
