PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Sabah, Kelantan and Pahang will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Aug 21 until Sept 3 to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In a statement today, National Security Council (MKN) director-general Rodzi Md Saad said that in Sabah, the areas are Kampung Gambaron 1 and Ribu Bonus farm in Telupid as well as two localities in Beluran – the Cepat Wawasan 7000 farm housing and the Meridian Paitan farm housing.
In Kelantan, two Orang Asli villages in Pos Blau, Gua Musang, will be placed under the EMCO. They are Kampung Blau and Kampung Batang.
In Pahang, Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Lebak in Bentong will go under similar restrictions.
Rodzi added that the EMCO at Taman Nilam (Blue zone) in Langkawi, Kedah, and Kampung Baru Pasir Puteh and Kampung Wallace Bay in Pulau Sebatik, Sabah, will be extended until Sept 3.
The EMCO at the Bentong prison complex, including its quarters, in Pahang will also be extended until Sept 3.
Meanwhile, the EMCOs at three localities are set to end tomorrow.
They are Kampung Morak in Tumpat, Kelantan, the workers’ housing for the Veetar palm oil factory in Tongod, Sabah, and Felda Sungai Koyan 1 and 2 in Lipis, Pahang. - FMT
