KOTA KINABALU: Beaufort and Putatan are the first two districts in Sabah to get 100% of the adult population with at least the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said it was based on the statistics compiled as of Wednesday (Sept 8).
"This is followed by Kuala Penyu at 94%, Kota Kinabalu at 86.7% and Sipitang at 81.5%," he said in a statement on Friday (Sept 10).
Based on the Sept 8 statistics, Kinabatangan has the lowest vaccination rate with 36.95% of the adult population receiving at least the first jab.
This was followed by Tongod (43.19%) and Semporna (47.95%).
On the vaccination rate in the state, 49.5% of Sabah folks have completed their inoculation while 65.8% have at least the first jab.
On Friday, Sabah recorded 2,246 cases, down marginally by 52 infections from 2,298 previously.
Kota Kinabalu has the highest with 302 cases.
A new cluster - Sawit Perpaduan in Kinabatangan - brought 91 cumulative cases.
"Category 2 patients are still the highest with 1,473 or 65.6% to the overall tally.
"There are 712 (31.77%) patients under Category 1," he said, adding that the remaining were serious cases under Category 3 to Category 5. - Star
