PETALING JAYA: Number forecast operators are believed to be ready to reopen today, according to the social media pages of some shops and outlets.
In Kota Kinabalu, state minister Masidi Manjun said numbers forecast companies and horse racing could resume from today, with the approval of the finance ministry.
Gaming company Da Ma Cai announced in a brief Facebook posting that it will be reopening but did not specify when, merely welcoming bettors to visit and place their bets.
“We are open, welcome back. Place your bets with us now,” it said.
Magnum 4D and Sports Toto did not announce anything similar but the Sports Toto outlet in Lucky Garden, Bangsar, confirmed that it will resume operations today.
Only fully vaccinated individuals, classified as low-risk, will be allowed into the shop, after checking in via MySejahtera. Phone booking and drive-thru services would also be available.
Customers were urged to place their bets by text message beforehand in order to minimise physical contact.
FMT has reached out to the National Security Council for confirmation.
Masidi said Sabah had agreed to allow forecasting number agencies and horse racing clubs to operate from tomorrow with the approval of the federal finance ministry.
The decision applies to gambling operators licensed by the ministry and horse racing clubs under the Malaysian Totalisator Board. - FMT
