PETALING JAYA: The Sabah state government was urged today to get local communities to monitor Covid-19 patients under quarantine.
Members of Rukun Tetangga or those in village committees are capable of monitoring such patients, said the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (Insap), which said about 19,000 Category 1 and 2 patients (those with mild or minimal symptoms) are diagnosed every day.
General practitioners and private hospitals at the same locality could help and thus reduce incidences of cases being brought in dead, said Insap deputy chairman Dr Pamela Yong, who is also head of Sabah MCA Wanita.
She urged the state government to prepare a vaccination programme that focuses on high impact areas such as densely populated towns and key connecting districts with higher economic output. - FMT
