PETALING JAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong will be making a trip to the UK from today until Sept 27.
The special visit symbolises the importance of the close relationship between Malaysia and the UK, the foreign affairs ministry said in a statement this morning.
“The visit also represents His Majesty’s concern for the wellbeing of Malaysians as well as the investment performance of country’s interests in the UK,” it said.
The King and Queen are scheduled to visit Battersea Power Station, a joint venture between Sime Darby Property, SP Setia Berhad, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).
They will also attend a meeting at the Malaysian High Commission in London on Sept 24 involving Malaysian entrepreneurs, academics, students and community leaders.
On Sept 25, the King will visit the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre, a world leading rubber industry research and development centre owned by the Malaysian Rubber Board.
He will also meet General Nicholas Carter, chief of the defence staff of the UK, to discuss the defence cooperation between the two countries. - FMT
