Three states will transition to the next National Recover Plan (NRP) phase on Friday as the Covid-19 situation there improves.
These states are Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, and Johor.
“The phase transition is in accordance with guidelines set under the NRP by taking into account of the hospital admission rate for symptomatic cases, ICU bed utilisation rate, and vaccination rate.
“The decision was also made based on current risk assessments conducted by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council (NSC),” said Pandemic Management Special Committee chairperson Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement today.
On Friday, Negeri Sembilan will transition from Phase 3 of the NRP to Phase 4, becoming the second region to reach the final phase of the plan after Labuan.
Meanwhile, Pahang will transition from Phase 2 to Phase 3, while Johor will transition from Phase 1 to Phase 2.
The Covid-19 standard operating procedures in these states will be the same as Phase 2, 3, and 4 SOPs in other states and territories, said Ismail Sabri, who is also the prime minister.
The list of states and territories according to their current NRP status is as follows:
Phase 1: Kedah and Johor (until Friday).
Phase 2: Kelantan, Pahang (until Friday), Perak, Penang, Sabah, Malacca, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
Phase 3: Perlis, Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan (until Friday) and Terengganu.
Phase 4: Labuan.
The SOPs for each phase can be found on the NSC’s website. - Mkini
