Police record statement from female leader of deviant group

The Perjalanan Mimpi Terakhir or PMYT group is believed to have 3,000 members.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded a statement from a woman known as “Sittah Annur”, believed to be associated with the spread of deviant religious teachings by a group called Perjalanan Mimpi Terakhir or PMYT.

According to a source, police recorded the statement at the woman’s house in Selangor yesterday.

Police also recorded statements from her husband and a few of her followers, and it was found that due to the current situation, she only had virtual contact with her followers, a source told Bernama.

The woman, believed to be the group’s leader, recently went viral after claiming that World War III would begin in Sabah and that she would lead her team to find Imam Mahdi and fight the enemy.

There are claims that PMYT has 3,000 members, but according to police, they are actually following the group on its social media accounts such as Facebook.

Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani was reported to have said that police were monitoring the group to ensure it would not cause public anxiety.

He said police could not carry out their investigation in haste as complete information needed to be gathered from various other parties, including Islamic religious bodies. - FMT
