At least I have a formula, Rafizi swipes at Najib

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has taken a swipe at former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak saying that Umno has many ministers but no formula to resolve the people's issues.

"At least I have a formula. There's no point in having so many ministers without an idea between them.

"Why is a formula important? Because when we present an idea, it must be understood.

"Umno does not understand ideas. They only know (how to repeat) the formula," he said at the launching ceremony of the Ayuh Malaysia campaign broadcasted live on Facebook yesterday.

The two men have been exchanging barbs with Najib saying that Pakatan Harapan is more than welcome to take back its initiatives, which Rafizi initially claimed has been hijacked by the former premier.

"I don't want this initiative, you can have it back because I have no intention of becoming the 'Raja Formula Songsang' (king of twisted formulas)," he said on Facebook taking aim at Rafizi's formulas which failed to materialise such as free tolls, cheaper cars and eradicating higher education loans.

According to Rafizi, having a formula is more important because that step enables an administration to find a solution to a problem.

The Ayuh Malaysia campaign is to attract the support of voters who are on the fence as the 15th general election approaches.

He said the launching ceremony also introduced the Cista application, which was developed to enable every Malaysian to volunteer to serve to bring the message of change towards a better Malaysia.

Ayuh Malaysia will fight for five policies, namely, food security, renewable energy, vocational education, affordable housing issues and educational democracy.

Also present at the event were Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang, Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir, Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Simpang Pulai assemblyperson Tan Kar Hing, Semambu assemblyperson Lee Chean Chung and former Kapar MP G Manivanan.

It is understood that these leaders from PKR are going to be part of Rafizi's slate of candidates in the party election due to be held this May.

Rafizi has already announced that he will run for deputy president. - Mkini
