PETALING JAYA: Bersatu leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin, popularly known as Chegubard, says he is unfazed by Najib Razak’s plan to sue him over allegations the former prime minister uttered the phrase “Apa lagi Cina mahu?” (What more do the Chinese want?)
“So far, it’s all talk. I welcome the suit by Najib. There will definitely be a counter-suit,” Badrul told FMT.
Yesterday, Najib said he would take legal action against Badrul for allegedly defaming him.

This came after Badrul alleged in a Facebook post that Najib was lying about never having uttered the phrase in the wake of the 2013 general election.
Najib said he had given Badrul 24 hours to retract the allegation but he refused to do so.
“There is no need to waste time on individuals who fail to distinguish media headlines from what I actually said. I will sue,” Najib had said on Facebook.
Badrul said he had not received any “love letter” or notice of summons so far from the former prime minister.
“No suit, nothing. This is typical. Najib wanted to sue the Wall Street Journal, but nothing happened. He wanted to sue Muhyiddin Yassin, but nothing so far either,” he said, claiming that Najib was trying to divert attention from the 1MDB charges against him. - FMT
