PORT DICKSON: PKR has declared its readiness to face the 15th General Election (GE15).
PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan (PH) and the prime minister had stated that the general election would not be called before July 31.
However, he said the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Transformation and Political Stability between the federal government and PH would be null and void once the election was called.
"All that's left now is to press on several unfinished matters, which are on administration and corruption.
"These are things we focus on as they have almost become a daily occurrence. We often see revelations of how public funds are mismanaged."
Anwar said this after officiating at the Dataran Segar Huat Huat Food Court in Lukut today.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa had said that the MoU would remain in effect until Parliament was dissolved.
However, Annuar had said it was ultimately down to the signatories of the MoU if they wished to revisit the terms.
He said the MoU had no expiration date, but under Article 3(1), it was stated that it remained in effect from the date it was signed until Parliament is dissolved.
The MoU contains six agendas: the empowerment of the Covid-19 action plan, administrative transformation, parliamentary improvements, freedom of the judiciary, the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the formation of a steering committee . NST
