Man in video threatens police officers who offered aid after being involved in an accident

NEVER bring a knife to a gunfight. That is what people said, but a young chap driving what appears to be a black Perodua Myvi will prove you wrong.

In a video posted on X by MALAYSIA MOST VIRAL, the man could be seen threatening police officers with a knife after they tried to help him.

It appears that the car had veered over the road, becoming stranded among the bushes.

Since the video showed only a brief snapshot of the scene, it was tough to tell the situation. According to netizen randomstg, the man may have driven himself into the ditch after being chased by the police.

He said it was weird that so many police officers could be seen about with the intention to help someone involved in an accident.

MALAYSIA MOST VIRAL, who posted the video said that if the man declined help from the police, it was likely that he was hiding something from them.

As the video continued, the police officers could be seen running helter skelter when the man with the knife emerged from his car to chase them.

Many netizens who observed the reaction of the authorities said they were either too soft or that the knife-wielding guy would have gotten much worse should he be residing in the United States of America.

Another netizen suggested that the officers could place a non-fatal shot at the man’s leg instead since he was armed.

Netizen Brewww, however, defended their action stating that the police could not simply open fire.

According to Brewww, the standard of procedure has been clearly explained that if the lives of the police officers or the public are not at risk, they are not allowed to shoot.

To better shed light into the scene, a news piece from Harian Metro revealed that the man is now in custody for pointing a knife at police officers who tried to help him.

The man was said to be involved in an accident at Jalan Expressway Samarahan-Kuching, nearby a shopping centre.

The chief police of Kota Samarahan district Deputy Superintendent Jaimi Husin said the tragedy occurred at 11.35am where the police patrol was deployed to the location after receiving information about a Perodua Myvi that fell off the road.

“We tried to calm the man down but he failed to give cooperation, “ he said. – Focus Malaysia
