“Mind your own biz, stop imposing your moral values on others,” Siti Kasim ticks off Johor’s Wanita UMNO leader

HUMAN rights activist Siti Kasim has hit out at Penawar state assemblywoman Fauziah Misri for insensitively implying that participants of the recently staged 2024 Pan Asia International Run organised by The Hash House Harriers Association which took place in Kota Tinggi, Johor “must be sensitive towards the feelings of Muslims”.

“I truly can’t understand why politicians have to be busybody meddling in other people’s event … if you don’t like it, you need not have to attend … it’s as simple as that but who’re you to control what others can do or cannot do?” the legal eagle chastised in a Facebook video.

“You claimed that the event was aimed at promoting LBGT (lesbian, bisexual, gay or transgendered) but there was no such thing … if you don’t like it, just abstain from watching it – it’s as simple as that.

“So what’s your problem? This is what I meant by politicians like to meddle in other people’s business … you want others to be sensitive to you yet you’re insensitive towards others.”

For context, a fuming Penawar state assemblywoman Fauziah Misri had requested the authorities to investigate the 2024 Pan Asia International Run following viralled photos of what the Pengerang Wanita UMNO chief alleged as” dress indecently, some are half-naked and promoting the LGBT culture”.

“I hope the authorities can investigate this matter while the public will have faith by letting the authorities investigate this matter,” she commented on her FB page.

“I also hope that the hotel (Lotus Desaru Hotel) would be more careful and thorough in the staging aspect of events at its premises, especially those that touch the sensitivity of Muslims.”

Questioning as to why everything has to be done according to standards set by politicians, Siti Kasim further contended that the best they could do “if your religion is sensitive to everything is to stay away from the event or avoid watching it”.

“Why must you be a busybody to restrict the rights of others … do you really think that this type of politicians is talking on behalf of everybody?” berated the advocate of Orang Asli’s well-being.

“Hell no for these people only want to impose their moral values based on their beliefs onto others … I’m dead against this type of politicians who should keep their beliefs to themselves as the event was never against the law in the first place.

“What rights do you’ve to bar others from living their lives till you made wild accusation such as “half naked” when they (referring to dancers) are fully clothed to suit their dance performance   … What’s your problem as people also wear bikini when they go to beaches?” – Oct 6, 2024
