Woman fends off would-be rapist by biting, scratching him

PETALING JAYA: 

A 24-year-old woman managed to fend off a man who tried to rape her at a public toilet in Kluang, Johor, by biting his hand and scratching him on the face.

Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh said the 34-year-old suspect, who is unemployed, was hiding in the toilet with the door closed, Harian Metro reported.

When the victim entered the toilet, the suspect locked the door before trying to rape the victim.

“The victim bit the suspect’s hand and scratched his face, which then allowed her to escape,” Bahrin said.

The suspect was then detained by members of the public before he was handed over to the police.

Bahrin said the suspect tested negative for drugs but had a criminal record for various offences, including for narcotics. - FMT
